#WINDOWS 7 HP WIFI DRIVER MISSING UPDATE#
If you never see another update here, assume that WiFi worked from here on out by swapping. Now, this could be a fluke again, so I'll keep monitoring. Restarted several more times, each time WiFi connected immediately. And there were WiFi networks! Connected to out office network with no issue.

After drivers installed and another restart, I disconnected the Ethernet and checked WiFi. After turning on computer, I needed to connect to Internet so Windows could get new drivers, so I used a USB-C to Ethernet adapter and connected via hardwire. I swapped in a Intel Model 8265NGW, Dell P/N 08F3Y8 REV A00 from a Dell laptop. This HP eg1077nr originally came with a MediaTek Model MT7921, AW-XB468NF REV0A, HP P/N M74497-001. Since this is a company computer and I have MANY company computers, some that will be brought to recyclers, I pulled a wireless radio module from another laptop and swapped them out. Adapter can be disabled/enabled, either via software or via Airplane button keyboard shortcut, but it seems happenstance when/if WiFi networks are detected.

Update, 12 July 2022: As stated on the 12 April 2022 update, the WiFi adapter is always recognized, but most times, no WiFi networks are shown. The Bluetooth radio is working, but WiFi isn't picking up at all. Update, 12 April 2022: So I finally checked this computer again and, lo and behold, WiFi is gone. Is it permanently fixed? Maybe? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Update, 10 April 2022: I had this computer turned on for about a week, ran all updates, restarted several times, and not once did I notice the WiFi disappear. At the same time, I've thought it was fixed before, only to see it come back, so I have no clue if it's actually fixed. The only things I've done to attempt to fix it were running all Windows and HP updates. I haven't seen it "disappear" in at least a month. Update, : I haven't found a fix for this, but it also does seem to be working. I knew I should've just bought the Windows 10 version. Is this a known issue with Windows 11? If so, are there any solutions?

I don't know what else to try, other than to do a full factory reset. Right now, the only way I have Internet is via a USB Ethernet dongle. I tried uninstalling all Windows Updates. I've tried checking HP's pre-installed software for drivers none available. I've tried checking Windows Updates for device drivers none available. I tried the Windows troubleshooter to no avail. Nope no WiFi adapter to be seen, installed or otherwise. I checked Device Manager to see if maybe the driver got messed up and the device was showing there. Bluetooth is still showing, but no WiFi adapter. Nope, it's like the adapter isn't there at all. OK, maybe some Windows Updates were being applied. Eventually, I noticed that the computer was restarting. Joined it to the domain just fine.Īfter installing a Ninite package, getting O365 installed, and our remote tools, I got busy with other stuff and let it sit there. Purchased it through the Windows store and the license was upgraded with no issue. I needed Win11 Pro since my company uses a domain.

On initial set-up, I connected to WiFi with no problem. I bought a brand new HP Pavilion 15-eg1077nr yesterday.
